Ill join CORD if Kalonzo is flag bearer -Sonko

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko says he is ready to decamp to the Coalitions for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) if former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka clinches the Presidential ticket.

Speaking at the funeral service of the father to Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, Sonko said he would heed calls to “come back home” if Musyoka would be given the chance to contest for the top seat.

Sonko asked the former Vice President to ensure he brings all elected leaders together to ensure unity and development in the country, should he become president.

Sonko was accompanied by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, CORD principal Kalonzo Musyoka and several other cord MPs.

Cord co-principals Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka, urged the senator to make real his intentions and join the Opposition ahead of the 2017 General Elections.

Sonko has declared intentions to contest for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat alongside TNA chairman Johnston Sakaja, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru and Water CS Eugene Wamalwa. The crowded queue for the Jubilee ticket, appears to be informing Sonko’s about turn.

At the same time, Mombasa women representative Mishi Mboko blamed a section of mps from Ukambani for working with Jubilee to sabotage the coalition.
