IN PICTURES: Heavy police presence at IEBC offices ahead of CORD march

Over 50 police officers have been deployed at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi ahead of a planned march by Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD).

Armed police officers were seen at the offices as early as 6AM with anyone seeking access to the building going through a thorough security check.

Addressing the press outside IEBC offices Monday morning, Nairobi Police Commander Japheth Koome stated that police officers are under instructions to deal with anyone who attempts to cause chaos and disturb the peace during the march.

CORD leaders had on Sunday vowed to storm IEBC offices Monday morning to evict the commissioners saying they are not fit to hold the next elections.
