Law Society of Kenya and human rights activists Monday held protests in Nairobi to condemn the heinous murder of lawyer Willie Kimani, his client Josphat Mwenda and driver Joseph Muiruri last week.
Present was Narc party leader Martha Karua who expressed her displeasure in the manner the police have handled investigations in alleged cases of extra-judicial killings.
“I am here as a mother and this cannot go on, someone must take responsibility,” said Karua.
The protesters milled the streets demanding for a conclusive probe on all persons suspected to have taken part in the murder of lawyer Kimani and two other people.
While pushing for justice for the victims and those culpable to be prosecuted, protesters, who started their march at Freedom Corner, entered Nairobi’s CBD area making the first stop at the Supreme Court where they addresses the media.
The protesters then marched to Harambee House and wound up the at the office of the Inspector General of Police where police Spokesperson Charles Owino received a petition from the protesters.
The protesters now say that they will resume demonstrations on Wednesday.
