IN PICTURES: Is This the New Trend in Fashion?
A new trend emerging from the redcarpet is that of celebrities dressing, rather under-dressing, in see-through net dresses with sequins or feathers covering certain areas considered private.
Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Beyonce Knowels and Jennifer Lopez turned up at the Met Gala Ball dressed in see-through dresses.
Here are pictures of the best dressed and the not so well dressed at the gala.
It was Amal Clooney’s first Met Gala, and she was stunning. The human rights attorney went dressed in Maison Margiela’s red gown.
Beyoncé was dressed in a skin hugging, airy, and net Givenchy gown that brought out the carefully placed sequins and feathers
Janelle Monáe decided to go all superheroine. She wore a cape on top of her skirt and crop top, that acted as interesting alternatives to the straightforward floor-gowns. Her outfit was made by H&M.
Rihanna wore a larger than life yellow dress.
Jennifer Lopez was in a glittering body-skimming dresses, that showed out most of the parts of her glowing skin. Lopez wore Atelier Versace.
Kendall Jenner, who is Kim Kardashian’s younger sister, was in a dress with murky lacing on the side that covered her neckline just a bit. Kendall was dressed in Calvin Klein Collection.
Pop star Lady Gaga who is known for breaking the rules finished off her look with a lattice-like cape. Lady Gaga was dressed in Balenciaga.
