IN PICTURES: NASA supporters celebrate Supreme Court verdict
Business came to a standstill in Nairobi Central Business District as NASA supporters took to the streets to celebrate the Supreme Court’s ruling on the presidential petition.
In Nairobi’s Kibera slum, which is political bedrock of NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga, supporters took to the streets to celebrate the outcome with chants on “Uhuru must go” ringing the air.
In Bungoma, jubilant residents joined other supporters. Bodaboda operators, taxi drivers and other residents motorcycles and vehicles hooted continuously and danced around the town chanting NASA songs.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, the supporters thanked the Supreme Court for the ruling saying that for the first time, justice has been served to Kenyans.
Busia residents who were equally jubilant said that they are ready to go to the ballot further expressing confidence in a Raila win.
In Nanyuki, a town deemed to be a Jubilee stronghold, a section of NASA supporters were however witnessed celebrating the ruling.
