The government has deployed police officers to guard the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices as the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) plans march to oust the commissioners.
Nairobi County police boss Japheth Koome said the march was welcome but any acts of violence or lawlessness will not be tolerated.
Koome says that they have information that some CORD supporters are armed with crude weapons to cause violence and harm innocent Kenyans during the protests, something he says will be repelled by all means.
