Incredible police chase in Naivasha as carjacking plot flops

In a movie-like scene on Friday afternoon, officers from Naivasha Police Station dashed out of the precinct into awaiting vehicles after a receiving a distress call about a carjacking.

The owner of the vehicle, Michael Kibe, is the one who made the call.

He narrated how his brother who was using the vehicle was carjacked on Thursday night.

According to him, three suspects had drugged his brother and then abandoned him inside a thicket in Nyandarua County.

Good samaritans reportedly found him unconscious and took him to hospital.

On hearing this, police took a car tracking device and put in the details of the missing vehicle: it showed that the car was in Kayole area.

Mr Kibe who had also been combing the town for several hours spotted the vehicle being driven along a feeder road and alerted the officers.

Strangely, the carjacker seemed to have a sixth sense and noticed that he was being tracked.

He sped off at breakneck speed and what followed was a daredevil car chase along the busy Naivasha highway.

The suspect then branched off from the main highway with police and Mr. Kibe in hot pursuit.

A few minutes later, they found the car abandoned on the side of the road and the suspect nowhere in sight.

In the background was a vast maize plantation in the outskirts of Kayole estate.

Mr Kibe hailed the officers from Naivasha for their prompt response which led to the recovery of the vehicle.

The vehicle was later driven to the Naivasha Police Station as the officers continue to hunt down for the suspects.
