Inside Tob Cohen and Sarah Wairimu’s rocky marriage
Former Gatundu North MP Patrick Muiruri has revealed details of a troubled marriage between the late Tob Cohen and Sarah Wairimu.
Speaking on Friday after Cohen’s body was discovered, Muiruri recalled an altercation at the wedding of the couple’s adopted daughter last year.
According to him, Sarah sidelined Cohen even telling him that: “You do not own this home, you are not wanted here.”
The incident apparently occurred after Cohen decided to take the microphone and greet their guests.
Sarah reportedly would have none of it and grabbed the microphone from him.
Muiruri said all the while he and Cohen had been sitting by themselves on the veranda after his friend told him: “We are not wanted here let’s go inside and have a drink.”
The former MP expressed his astonishment over the incident saying Cohen had educated his adopted daughter in The Netherlands and taken good care of the entire family yet he was being treated like an outsider.
Muiruri intimated that on the night that Cohen went missing, they had talked from 9:45pm for about 15 minutes.
“He was very concerned about his life. He never hid the fact that if anything happens to him, if he is found dead anywhere, Sarah his wife would be responsible,” the former MP told journalists on Friday.
Cohen is reported to have complained to police over the same issue.
Mr. Muiruri further revealed that Cohen’s sister Gabrielle had also called him when she discovered that he was missing.
“They would talk on daily basis, two to three times a day, but now she couldn’t reach him,” the former MP said.
He further recalled that on Thursday this week, Sarah’s lawyer Philip Murgor mentioned him at a Press conference accusing him of making ‘some wild’ allegations.
The lawyer was reportedly convinced that his client’s husband was safe and would return home.
Mr. Muiruri also recalled the Press conference where Sarah had been asked what message she had for her missing husband and she responded saying: ” Cohen please come home. We are your family and we love you”
The former MP on Friday insisted that Sarah is behind Cohen’s murder and that the law will take its own course.
“If she murdered for property she will not get it. If it is for the business she ran with Cohen, which only meant to promote golf, the business is dead because no golfer will do business with Sarah,” he added.
The late Tob Cohen owned Tobs Golf Safaris together with his estranged wife Sarah Wairimu.
