Interior PS Kibicho takes DP Ruto head on

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has accused Deputy President William Ruto of creating confusion in Kirinyaga County and asked him to keep off.

Speaking at St.Peters Gathuthuini Secondary School after commissioning a borehole, Kibicho also critiqued what he termed an obsession by a certain group of politicians, with the 2022 elections saying they should focus on delivering pledges to the electorate.

In what is likely to widen the rift in government, the Interior PS this time further made an indirect stab at the second in command over his tours to Kirinyaga County.

“You just come here to reap where you did not sow…. This is the kind of confusion we will not entertain,” said Kibicho.

The Deputy President coming under fire for what is perceived as an attempt to upstage President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto has made over 15 visits to Kirinyaga County since the re-election of the Jubilee Administration.

His inroads in the Mount Kenya region have however rubbed a section of the region’s leadership the wrong way.

“ Itakuwa ni jambo la aibu ikiwa wewe unasema huyu ni rais wangu nilichagua na saa ile rais anasema tuweke nchi kwa pamoja wewe unasema umeenda kutangatanga…unatanga kwenda wapi , kikiwa unataka kutangatanga, jiuzulu kwa serikali uende utangetange…,” said Joe Mutambo – Chairman, Water Resources Authority.

Kibicho further dismissed those claiming meetings he held with other leaders were politically inclined.
