IPOA accuse Kavuludi commission of ignoring other bodies

The Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) is now accusing the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) of excluding it from ongoing police reform processes.

IPOA commissioner Tom Kagwe says NPSC, headed by Johnstone Kavuludi, has barred their efforts in the reforms despite reaching out even to the Inspector General of Police.

Kagwe has also at the same time questioned the morality of the police service commission in vetting officers amid corruption allegations facing Kavuludi and four other officials.

They were speaking during a forum on police reforms by International Centre for Transitional Justice where deputy police commissioner King’ori Mwangi faulted NPSC for excluding police officers from formulation of modalities for vetting.
