IPOA Wants Deputy IGs To Quit
IPOA chairperson Macharia Njeru says the two must follow David Kimaiyo and also leave office as they were equally to blame for their inability to tackle runaway insecurity
Njeru claims that the two top cops are part of the problem in the country’s security apparatus.
The IPOA chair also demanded for the speedy and competitive hiring of a new Inspector General to replace Kimaiyo who went for an early retirement after the killing of 36 kenyans by Al Shabaab militants
Njeru was happy that Kimaiyo had left the police service while Joseph ole lenku had been dropped from the powerful Interior secretary
He further noted that the National Police Service Commission as currently constituted lacks quorum and can’t legally propose who is to be appointed as acting IG
