Ipsos says only 34pc Huduma Namba registrations in the country

A survey by Ipsos Kenya has revealed that a majority of Kenyans are aware of what the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) also known as Huduma Namba but have barely registered.

The survey released on Thursday noted that a huge percentage Kenyans were aware of the ongoing process but are yet to register.

95percent of those polled said they were aware but only 34percent said they had registered.

On Friday morning, President Uhuru Kenyatta noted that Huduma Namba registration centers would remain open during the Easter break.

In regards to the current drought situation in several parts of the country, IPSOS said a majority of Kenyans are worried about the situation.

According to them, a high number of Kenyans said the National Government has not performed well enough in combating drought and hunger in their localities.

“49percent of Kenyans do not feel the National government has performed well enough in combating drought and hunger in their locality,” IPSOS said.

“58percent of Kenyans do not feel their County government has performed well enough in combating drought and hunger in their locality and 47percent of Kenyans feel that the most serious problem facing them in their locality today is drought and famine with high cost of living at 19percent and lack of employment at 15percent” the study adds.
