Isaac Rutto Urges Religious Unity in Wake of Terror Attack

Speaking at a fundraiser in Brook Estate, Kericho County, Mr Rutto said: “Kenyans should not be divided along religious lines by Al-Shabaab.”

This comes after revelations that the terrorists spared Muslims after they recited a verse in the Koran but murdered their Christian colleagues.

“I wonder how such individuals would kill innocent Kenyans,” Rutto said as he condoled with the bereaved.

TOOK HOSTAGES

Joel Ayora, who was on the campus and witnessed the attack, said gunmen burst into a Christian meeting where they took hostages before proceeding to the hostels where they shot everyone they came across except for Muslims.

The massacre that saw at least 148 people killed and scores injured lasted six hours before the terror was over.

The death toll is the highest in a terror attack on Kenyan soil since the US Embassy was bombed in 1998 where more than 200 people died.
