Isinya: 7 suspected thugs shot dead in gunfight with police

Detectives drawn from the Special Service Unit on Thursday morning gunned down 7 suspects in Isinya.

A report from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that officers had hailed a vehicle of registration KCB 583L which had ‘suspicious’ individuals on board.

The report further says that the occupants of the vehicle defied the order and instead, fired several rounds at the officers.

A serious exchange of fire ensued with detectives gunning down all the seven occupants of the vehicle.

An AK 47 Rifle loaded with 3 rounds of ammunition, a Pocket phone, two Kenya police jungle jackets ,a beret, 7 mobile phones & assorted crude weapons were recovered from the vehicle.

Officers also recovered Identity Cards which did not belong to any of the suspects.

The suspects have been linked to a series of robberies that have been happening in Nairobi, Mlolongo, kitengela and Isinya.
