Isiolo County agriculture boss arrested over alleged incitement

Police in Isiolo are holding the Isiolo County Agriculture Executive Committee member Patrick Lesengei over allegations of inciting the Samburu and Dorobo communities in the area.

Isiolo County Commissioner George Natambeya said Lesengei was arrested together with another suspect over incitement claims.

“In due course, we shall be able to have all suspects arrested and interrogated. There are three more suspects that we are going after and all leaders making inciting statements in Isiolo, Samburu and Laikipia must be aware that they shall face the law,” said Natembeya.

Natambeya said the two will soon be charged with incitement.

On Monday, Interior Cabinet Secretary Major Gen. (Rtd.) Joseph Nkaissery ordered for the arrest and prosecution of all leaders inciting Samburu and Dorobo communities into violence.
