Isiolo Teachers Protest Rising Insecurity

The teachers were furious over the killing of one of their colleagues at Oldonyiro area of Isiolo County.

Led by the local KNUT branch officials Dado Boru and Githusi Mutunga, the irate teachers marched to the County Commissioner's office demanding answers over the attacks targetting teachers in the area.

The two officials asked teachers who have been transferred to oldonyiro and Kipsing areas not to report to their new places of work until the matter was addressed.

Isiolo County Commissioner Wanyama Musiambo joined the teachers in condemning the new wave of attacks targetting teachers

Musiambo said the government will strive to restore security in the county to ensure normal learning resumes

The latest killing comes barely three weeks after yet another teacher was brutally murdered in his home in Kulamawe, Isiolo.
