Its too early for 2022 governorship campaigns, Kirinyaga MCAs say

Members of Kirinyaga County Assembly have called on political leaders in Kirinyaga to desist from engaging in 2022 politics and instead support Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru in her effort to achieve her development agenda.

Speaking during the launch of the Kagio parking project which was launched by Governor Waiguru, eight MCAs led by Majority Leader James Murango urged leaders to desist from engaging in political rhetoric in line with 2022 governorship campaigns, noting that time for campaign was over.

“We cannot survive on politics alone; it is time to desist from engaging in politics and focus on development because that is what the people of Kirinyaga want,” noted the Majority Leader.

In her speech, Governor Waiguru said it was time for a shift in the political engagements saying that her biggest job is to deliver on her promises to the people of Kirinyaga. The governor urged leaders to focus on politics of development.

Upon completion, the parking lot will accommodate 230 vehicles in a move that is aimed at ending traffic snarl-ups in the area.
