Itumbi ordered to pay Ksh.20K child support after DNA confirms paternity

The Children’s Court in Nairobi has ordered Dennis Itumbi to pay an interim maintenance of Ksh. 20,000 for his child pending the hearing and determination of the case.

This was after DNA results confirmed that he as indeed the father of the baby girl.

The ruling follows a suit filed in court by the child’s mother through family law advocate Enricah Dulo.

The lawyer is seeking to have Itumbi start paying for the child’s upkeep.

Itumbi had demanded that the DNA test be conducted to determine paternity before the case could proceed.

In Friday’s ruling, the court further allowed the parties to try and reach an out-of-court settlement on the matter.

Among the demands from the child’s mother is Ksh.50,000 monthly maintenance, a medical cover and school fees.

In his response on Friday, Itumbi said: “The child is mine. May the child suckle with both cheeks. DNA is #SystemYaFacts. System Ya Facts has a new automatic member.”
