Jadudi back after fourth successful brain surgery

Jadudi back after fourth successful brain surgery

Emmanuel Otieno alias Jadudi has returned home after a successful fourth brain surgery in India to remove a cancerous tumor.

Jadudi jetted back in the country on Thursday night after the removal of the tumor at The Apollo Hospital.

The surgery was funded by Kenyans through a social media fundraising drive.

In August, Jadudi was the talk of town after Kenyans raised Ksh 6 million for his urgent brain surgery in India.

An emotive piece titled That Thing In Jadudi’s Head’ by blogger Jackson Biko on his blog Bikozulu and Zawadi Nyongo’s efforts of mobilizing Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) to raise Ksh 1 million to help Emmanuel Otieno ‘Jadudi’ get surgery to remove a recurring brain tumor became successful.

Kenyans rallied together to raise funds for Jadudi and the target was surpassed and instead of Ksh 1 million, Ksh 1 million was raised in just 48 hours.

Jadudi, a 23 year-old third-year political science and sociology student at University of Nairobi, was diagnosed with Grande III Ependymoma, a brain tumor three years ago.

He underwent the first surgery which was successful but left him paralyzed on the right side. However, after three surgeries the tumor recurred and that is when he sought the help of Bikozulu.

Jadudi was optimistic and hoped that this fourth surgery would be his last.
