Jakoyo Midiwo: Everyone in ODM is a mole

Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has distanced himself from allegations that he is a Jubilee mole saying that if he is a mole, then everyone in ODM is a mole.

Nominated MP Dr Oburu Oginga on Sunday sensationally claimed that the Gem legislator was a mole, citing the various meetings and phone calls between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The lawmaker, who recalled the resources he has put to develop the ODM party in terms of time and labour, stated that there is no way he could be a Jubilee mole given his position in the party.

He argued that if he was a mole then everyone in ODM, including the nominated MP, is a mole.

Jakoyo at the same time dismissed claims by Dr Oginga that he was being used by the Jubilee Government to fuel wrangles in Siaya County, terming the remarks as unfortunate.

The MP further denied claims that he was the mastermind of the chaos that disrupted Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga’s public rally at Nyayo Gardens in Yala town last week.

The legislator distanced himself from the accusations saying he was out of the country when the mayhem took place, and strongly dismissed those linking him to that incident which he termed as unfortunate.

Nominated MP Dr Oburu Oginga had linked Jakoyo to the incident which ended the governor’s rally in disarray but the Gem MP, who has apologized to Yala residents for the regrettable incident, challenged him to table evidence.

The Gem MP, who was speaking to Citizen Digital on phone, however, asked his constituents to allow the governor to tour any part of the region at will, but maintained that they will never hesitate to demand their rightful share in county resources.

Meanwhile, Ugunja politician M.J Okumu has called on Siaya County leaders to shun the unnecessary wrangles and turn their energies on the implementation of the agenda of the day, which is devolution.

Okumu, who is a lawyer by profession, has called on Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga and Senator James Orengo to bring together the leaders of this county so that they can sort out their differences to enable smooth running of the affairs of the county.
