Jakoyo Midiwo is a mole, Odinga claims

Nominated MP Dr Oburu Odinga has claimed that Gem legislator Jakoyo Midiwo is a Jubilee mole being used to fuel wrangles in Siaya County.

Dr Odinga expressed concerns over the numerous meetings between Midiwo and President Uhuru Kenyatta claiming that it is a clear indication that he is a mole working for the government.

He said that the wrangling between Midiwo and the Siaya County Governor Cornel Rasanga was not meant to fight corruption but serve the interests of the Jubilee Government to bring down the county government.

“I suspect honourable Jakoyo particularly. I asked him if he knows that his smear campaigns against the Siaya Government is spoiling it for Raila and he said he doesn’t care,” claims Odinga.

He accused Midiwo of orchestrating the unrest witnessed during Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga’s public rally at Yala Town on Wednesday last week, saying it is unfortunate that leaders are using their positions to pursue personal interests.

FOCUS ON DEVELOPMENT

Dr Odinga urged leaders in the county to put aside their political ambitions and focus on development.

“The development of the county should take priority to personal interest. If it is just corruption, he should have sat us leaders down to solve it instead of involving the people in acrimony and infighting,” he said.

“The only way to end it (wrangles) is by first getting rid of the Jubilee hand that is in it and the residents should help us deal with this.”

Dr Odinga made the remarks during the burial of Eng Martin Owiti at Kasau Village in Bondo Constituency.

He termed the corruption allegations against Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga as a smear campaign and a mere political ploy aimed at tarnishing his name.
