JAP Kicks Off Recruitment Drive in Laikipia

The party’s interim officials announced that the recruitment drive will begin from the grass root level and later to the entire county.

Led by Interim coordinator Michael Kabochi, the leaders on Wednesday initiated the drive at Igwamiti Ward and called on residents to join the party in readiness for the forthcoming elections and in solidarity with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Kabochi said JAP will be formed by residents and accused a section of local leaders making attempts to hijack its operations for their own benefits.

Consoling members from 'small' parties

He said JAP structures are well laid out for any interested individual to seek election right from the grass root level and to the County level.

Kabochi said as long as there was open democracy and free and transparent elections, members from the small parties have no cause to worry.

He observed that JAP merger was headed in the right direction in preparation for the 2017 general elections and called on other small parties to join the alliance failure to which they will be locked out in the last minute.

Speaking to the press in Nyahururu town after a day-long closed door meeting, Kabochi said that the new party would end leadership wrangles in the Jubilee government.

Other officials echoed the sentiment saying the JAP merger has brought together several smaller parties in an effort geared towards uniting Kenyans.
