Jealous Man Stabs Lover to Death

A somber mood engulfed Rwathe-ini Village in Othaya after residents woke up to shocking news of a woman who was murdered by an alleged suitor.

The deceased, 45-year-old old Priscilla Wairima, is reported to have been killed inside her rental room by her alleged suitor who is also said to have locked up her three-month-old baby girl inside a laundry box.

According to residents, Wairima’s body was discovered with deep cuts on her face and a rope tied around her neck.

The alleged suitor and suspected assailant, Samuel Kiboi, is said to have been living in the same block of rental rooms and worked together with the deceased as casual labourers at Nyayo Tea Zones in Othaya.

QUESTIONABLE PATERNITY

Cracks began forming in their relationship after the deceased gave birth to the baby whose paternity he questioned.

Wairima, a mother to three other children, is reported to have been having regular fights with Kiboi who had threatened to one day harm her over the baby.

According to Thoome, a neighbour, prior to her death, Wairima had planned to relocate from the house she lived as she feared for her life.

Nyeri South OCPD Joseph Mwika now says that they have launched a manhunt for the suspect who has since gone into hiding.
