Jobless HELB beneficiarys tweet draws hilarious reactions from Kenyans

A Kenyan Twitter user has elicited mixed reactions online after posting a plea for any job opportunities in order to repay his growing debt to the Higher Educations Loans Board (HELB).

Sebastin Kilonzo, in a tweet on Wednesday, said his HELB loan had grown to over Ksh.320,000, further attaching his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate as well as his Bachelor of Science degree in Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering from Taita Taveta University.

“I really want to service it and give a brother and a sister the opportunity to complete school. Any job leads please,” read the tweet in part.

HELB, however, responded to the tweet asking Mr. Kilonzo to visit their headquarters so that they could help discuss his preferred mode of repayment.

Kenyans, in their characteristic fashion, quickly jumped in with some advising Mr. Kilonzo on how to deal with the offer and others mocking HELB for discussing repayment terms with a jobless person.
