Journalist killed in Kibra as he was heading home from work, suspect lynched

A radio journalist working with Pamoja FM in Kibra was killed on Monday morning under unclear circumstances.

It is reported that Hassan Mohammed Marjian met his untimely demise near Kibera Law Court at dawn.

He was on his way from work after hosting a special Ramadhan show.

The incident irked members of the public who launched a manhunt for the killers.

One person who was allegedly linked to the murder was lynched.

Kibra residents have accused the police of laxity particularly during the dusk to dawn curfew.

They claim that rowdy youth have been terrorizing the neighborhood.

Kibra sub-county deputy commissioner Gideon Ombogi said police have been deployed to probe the mater.

The two bodies have been taken to the City morgue awaiting an autopsy.

The murder of the journalist came a day after journalists commemorated  World Press Freedom Day.
