The Judicial Service Commission has begun a recruitment drive for staff and promotion interviews for magistrates.

In a statement to the media on Sunday, the JSC said this is part of its efforts to enhance human resources capacity of the Judiciary.

“The JSC will be conducting physical interviews from October 12 to November 3, 2020 for a total of 632)candidates shortlisted for the following advertised positions: Law Clerks (14 posts), Senior Legal Researchers (30 posts) and Legal Researchers (158 posts),” JSC Secretary Anne Amadi said in the statement.

Amadi said the JSC plans to embark on promotional interviews for Magistrates and Kadhis immediately after the interviews for the law clerks and legal researchers.

She cited an advertisement on October 7, 2020 for 65 positions in various directorates aimed at addressing the human resource shortage in the JSC Secretariat and the Judiciary.

“The positions once filled will improve on service delivery to the public,” Amadi added.

She noted that JSC is committed to promoting and facilitating the independence and accountability of the Judiciary and the efficient, effective and transparent administration of justice.
