Jubilee affiliate parties to remain intact until September Duale

National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale has said Jubilee is on course to unite the country through the formation of one party.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Duale said they have agreed as a coalition that each party will remain in their respective parties under the Political Parties Act until they call for National Delegates Conference in September where they will unveil their party leader, manifesto and candidates for 2017.

Duale assured that no politician would lose his or her seat after joining the Jubilee Party as stipulated in the Political Parties Act that was signed by the president.

He further noted that ethnic divisions in the country have only served to divide Kenyans and lead to emergence of leaders who have no agenda for Kenyans.

Duale asked the pastoralist communities in the country to join the Jubilee Party because their common problems will be addressed now and after the General Election.

“Jubilee wants to leave a legacy where the country will have at least two parties that all Kenyans can identify with,” he said.

The Garissa Township MP also called on the opposition to unite and form one party.

He expressed optimism that Jubilee would win the next elections since they are well prepared and have a presidential candidate already in place.

As a step towards the unveiling of the new party, President Kenyatta received the instruments of the merger of the affiliate parties of the Jubilee Coalition from the steering committee that will see the formation of the Jubilee Party.
