Jubilee agents in Kilifi threaten to join NASA over unpaid dues

Jubilee agents in Kilifi County have threatened to boycott fresh presidential election if the party fails to pay their allowances as soon as possible.

The agents, numbering 900, say that the party has ignored them and have not received, in full, their money for work done during the August 8 General Election.

“We suffered so much during last month’s election. Some of us even faced physical attacks as a result of our association with Jubilee. We want this issue to be resolved so that we can get our money,” said Catherine Zame, one of the agents.

Talking to Citizen Digital, their spokesperson, Najma Juliet Mangi, said that she did not receive any money from the party as purported by some senior Jubilee officials in the county, including former Kilifi North MP Gedion Mung’aro.

According to Mangi, who was Jubilee’s chief agent in the county, they ought to have received a total of Ksh4.5 million, that is Ksh4,000 for each agent, adding that some of the agents will shift allegiance to the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA).

Daniel Chome, Jubilee’s representative in the county,  has downplayed their threats stating that most parties in the country have not been able to pay their agents.
