Jubilee asks police to be more vigilant ahead of August 8

The Meru County Jubilee Party Secretary General, Alhaji Mwenda, has called upon the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, to ensure that peace is maintained before, during and after the August 8, 2017 General Election.

Mr Mwenda noted that there are criminal elements who are planning to disrupt peace during the electioneering period, calling on Mr Boinnet to deal with them decisively in order to safeguard Kenyan citizens.

He added that political campaigns are at the peak and the police boss needs to be more careful  in order to protect the nation.

“I want to ask Boinnet to ensure that his officers are more alert so that no Kenyan loses his or her life as a result of politics,” said Mr Mwenda.

He further called on Kenyans to preach peace during the politicking period saying that the country will remain even after August 8 when Kenyans install their next set of leaders.

“The country is more important than the aspirants. We want to ask Kenyans that no more blood should be shed because of politics in this country.”
