Jubilee Coalition will crumble, claims Muthama

Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama has cast doubts over the survival of Jubilee coalition ahead of the 2017 General Election.

The legislator claimed that already there was wrangling in the coalition, which he says would lead to the crumbling of the coalition.

He said the turmoil being witnessed in Jubilee would give CORD coalition a walkover in the next elections.

He criticised Deputy President William Ruto over his recent sentiments that CORD leader Raila Odinga cannot win elections with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate, saying the remarks are aimed at splitting the coalition.

The senator said that, together with Siaya Senators James Orengo and Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale, they have already put in place proper strategies that would see CORD win the next General Election by a landslide.

He asked the government to honour the court ruling on teachers’ salary increment, arguing that the government cannot claim not to have funds yet a lot of money was allegedly being embezzled through the National Youth Service (NYS).

Muthama made the remarks during a bridal ceremony for Siaya Senator James Orengo’s daughter Lavender Orengo in Ugenya Constituency on Saturday.

The ceremony was also attended by nominated Senator Judy Sijenyi and MPs Nicholas Gumbo (Rarieda), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Jakoyo Midiwo (Gem) and host MP David Ochieng among other dignitaries.
