Jubilee, IEBC working on new scheme to rig elections – Kalonzo

Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has claimed there is a new scheme by Jubilee government and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to rig the 2017 General Elections.

Addressing CORD supporters during the anti-IEBC protests on Monday, Kalonzo claimed that already IEBC chair Issack Hassan has visited Korea to seek help in how to tamper with BVR kits and sway the votes in favour of Jubilee.

The CORD co-principal made referred to Deputy President William Ruto’s assurance to Jubilee supporters that they would win the next polls, to their silent dealings aimed at rigging the vote.

Kalonzo’s claims come a week after CORD leader Raila Odinga accused IEBC commissioners of working in cohorts with Jubilee to ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta is re-elected to office.

In an interview with Citizen TV, Raila claimed that the commissioners had been promised government jobs at the end of their term after the 2017 elections if they rigged the elections in favour of President Kenyatta.

CORD has, however, said they would not sit back and watch Jubilee rig the elections saying they would only participate in the elections if the current commissioners are removed from office.

Others present were CORD principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula, Senators James Orengo (Siaya), Bonny Khalwale (Kakamega), Johnston Muthama (Machakos), Anyang Nyong’o, (Kisumu), MPs John Mbadi (Suba), Junet Mohammed (Suna East), T.J. Kajwang (Ruaraka), Elizabeth Ongoro (Nominated Senator), Agnes Zani (Nominated Senator), ODM Nairobi chairman George Aladwa among others.
