Jubilee is lying to Kenyans about maize imports NASA

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has accused the Jubilee Government of purchasing maize from Mexico at high prices, instead of buying the commodity from farmers at fair prices during the last harvest.

Speaking as the Opposition toured Kisii County in a vote-hunting mission, NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga accused Jubilee of insincerity in it’s move to lower the cost of living.

“Jubilee is trying to play with Kenyans mind, how can they purport to have lowered unga prices and then hike fuel prices? This is to trick Kenyans when in reality you, Kenyans, are still suffering at the hands of a failed government,” said Raila.

NASA’s number two Kalonzo Musyoka said that the government has paid Ksh.1000 more per bag for maize from Mexico, saying that this was a sign that Jubilee has mismanaged public funds.

“Jubilee is now paying Mexicans Ksh4, 200 per bag of maize yet they refused to pay Kenyans 3,200 for their maize. What type of a government is this surely?” said Kalonzo Musyoka.

NASA founder Musalia Mudavadi questioned the source of the billions of money the government has spent on maize subsidies, adding that the whole maize shortage was engineered by Jubilee-linked cartels.

“Where did Ksh.6 billion come from yet the government said that it don’t have enough money to pay Kenyan farmers for their maize? Where was the money when Kenyans were suffering of hunger?” questioned Mudavadi.

The Opposition reiterated their support for High Court’s ruling that made final presidential results announced at constituency level- a directive that IEBC wants reversed so that its chair, Wafula Chebukati-who is constitutionally the presidential returning officer, can be able to modify and alter grass root results in case of irregularity.

“We will not allow IEBC to change what was ruled by the High Court. This time round we will not allow stealing of votes. When you cast your vote on 8th August remain at the polling station to guard our votes,” added Ford Kenya Party leader, Moses Wetangula.
