Jubilee lacks internal democracy – Ruto
Barely ten days after its launch, a section of leaders from other parties, are now castigating Jubilee Party over what they term as lack of internal democracy.
Led by Mashinani Party leader and Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, the leaders argue that Jubilee Party is run like a private entity rather than a political party where stakeholders should be given a chance to make decisions.
Speaking during a tour of Kapkagoan, Nandi County, on Sunday, September 18, Ruto said that his party would not join Jubilee Party accusing the latter of using force and intimidation against its members.
He said that his party is built on a philosophy to eliminate poverty, hunger and diseases across the country.
“There are still many challenges facing Mashinani such as poverty, poor infrastructure and lack of clean water,” he pointed.
Ruto further urged the government to concentrate on service delivery asking for 45% of the national budget to be allocated to the counties.
Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Johanah Ng’eno, said that there is lack of democracy in many ‘big’ parties and thus they cannot assure their members of free and fair nominations.
Ng’eno also hit out on Cabinet Secretaries who have publicly engaged in politics adding that they should resign and pursue political ambitions.
