Jubilee MPs criticise Governors Joho, Kidero over Nairobi rally

Newly launched Jubilee Party put Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Nairobi counterpart Evans Kidero on the spot during its rally held at Mlango Kubwa in Mathare on Sunday.

Different speakers at the rally hit out at Kidero for relying on Joho to organise a rally in his county, adding that such stunts show his ineptitude to run the county government.

Nairobi Women Representative Rachel Shebesh, Nominated Senator Beatrice Elachi, Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru accused Kidero of seeking the support of Joho in a bid to organise a rally in Nairobi.

“It is surprising that Kidero, who is the governor for Nairobi, cannot organise his own rally without getting support from Hassan Joho, who does not understand Nairobi politics,” said Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.

Sakaja noted: “It is pretentious for Joho to campaign for Kidero in Nairobi and yet his own backyard is in shambles. They should know that Jubilee has taken over Nairobi.”

National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale in his address said that Jubilee is well prepared for the next elections, saying they would defeat ODM despite the involvement of Joho in their campaigns.

“We were able to defeat Raila when President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto had cases at the ICC. Now that they are free, ODM should expect a defeat of an even bigger margin.”

“Jubilee has more MPs in Nairobi than ODM, and we also have the Senator and Women Representative. God willing we will clinch the governorship seat in 2017,” said Duale.

Sakaja further warned ODM to brace for a bruising battle in the 2017, adding that they have the numbers to win ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta is reelected.

In his address, Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko said that Mathare is a Jubilee zone adding that their efforts to clinch the governorship seat are unstoppable.
