Jubilee MPs Propose Motion To Withdraw Kenya From Rome Statute

Led by Bumula MP Bonface Otsiula who also sposored the bill, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, Mukuruweni MP Kabando wa Kando, Nandi hills Mp Alfred Keter among others are accusing Western Countries of having pronounced control at the Hague to victimize African Leaders.

On his part, Kabando said that the ICC withdrawal bill will be one of the main agenda of the Jubilee coalition retreat which kicks off tonight in Naivasha.

In 2013, MPs passed a motion to withdraw Kenya from the Rome statue but a bill to effect the withdrawal was never introduced.

Last year the International Criminal Court withdrew the charges it had passed against President Uhuru Kenyatta, following lack of defence team evidences.

Deputy President William ruto and journalist Joshua Sang's trial is stilll ongoing at ICC.
