Jubilee MPs Turn Against Duale, Want Him to Step Aside

Led by Mukurwe-Ini MP Kabando wa Kabando and TNA Chair Johnson Sakaja, the MPs have threatened to take action against Duale if he does not comply.

This comes a few days after he and other North Eastern leaders vowed to name Al Shabaab fianciers and sympathizers.

The MPs also want police air wing commandant Rodgers Mbithi sacked for using a police plane for private affairs on the day of the siege, saying relevant parliamentary committees can not be trusted to probe the saga that resulted in a delayed reaction.

The lawmakers have also urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to act tougher on graft saying it is the greatest contributor to terrorism, especially along Kenyan borders.

The previos parliamentary sitting was a heckle on the state of insecurity in the country with Patrick Makau, Mavoko MP, saying that Duale ought to be interrogated, and "his links with the Somalia-based Al-Shabaab terror group investigated".

Mr. Makau termed Duale as a 'terrorist' and asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to relieve him of his duties as Majority Leader in the National Assembly.

Duale’s assertion that he would produce names of those funding  the Al Shaabab terrorist group activities in Kenya within 30 days has stirred anger and uproar among Kenyans.
