Deputy President William Ruto has drummed up support for newly launched Jubilee Party during his tour of Bomet County.

Speaking at St Theresa Catholic Church in Bomet, Ruto said that it is his desire and that of President Uhuru Kenyatta to lead a country that is united and peaceful.

“Jubilee was formed with the key focus of uniting Kenyans irrespective of their tribe, religious affiliations or geographic location.

“This is the reason we decided to merge URP, TNA, UDF and other parties to form one party which is a national party. We expect all leaders to follow the same route of uniting Kenyans ahead of the next elections.”

He further pointed out that Jubilee would conduct free and fair nomination for all the political positions, noting that no one in the party will receive preferential treatment during the nominations.

Ruto also spoke of the government’s plans to improve health sector in counties by equipping two hospitals in every county will dialysis and radiology machines to improve diagnosis and treatment at a low cost.

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, who ditched Jubilee for his own Mashinani Party, skipped the function.

His sentiments came as CORD co-principal Moses Wetangula faulted the formation of Jubilee Party saying it only works to push for the interest of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Speaking at PAG Church in Shauri Moyo, Wetangula accused Jubilee of failing to fulfill its pre-election pledges saying only CORD has the will to improve the living standards of Kenyans.
