Jubilee using food crisis for political gain – Kingi

Kilifi Governor, Amason Jeffa Kingi, has urged Kilifi residents to reject President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto saying they are using the food crisis in the county to campaign for themselves.

Speaking in Gongoni, Kilifi County, Kingi questioned the timing of disbursement of relief food to affected areas in various counties saying it is a ploy by the ruling coalition to campaign for themselves in the build up to the General Election.

“Jubilee is not sincere in its intentions of supplying food here, I urge you to reject their  overtures just like last year during the Malindi by-election, they splashed the cash but you rejected their candidate, they have made a lot of trips to this region lately just because the election is next month,” said Kingi.

He said that Kilifi will not benefit politically by joining Jubilee adding that President Kenyatta and Ruto’s trips to the county will not affect the region’s voting patterns and expressed confidence that the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, will emerge victorious on August 8.\
