Judge Sends Kabandos Brother To Mental Hospital

Thiari has been charged for allegedly killing his mother Rose Wachera Mwangi more than a week ago.

High Court Judge Justice James Wakiaga in his ruling said the accused should be hospitalized at Mathare mental hospital until his case comes up for mention on the 18th of September.

Justice Wakiaga said in his ruling that he would determine whether the accused person should undergo a full court trial

Justice Wakinga made this decision after Njeru Njue, a lawyer from Director of Public Prosecution, tabled in court a psychiatric medical report which showed that Thiari is suffering from a chronic psychiatric illness.

Njue in his report said that Thiari was mentally unstable and would not be able to appreciate court proceedings.

The lawyer representing the MP’s family Richard Kamotho said that he had seen the report and agreed with the decision that the suspect be admitted at the mental hospital.
