KU student leader Ayika elected African universities representative

Kenyatta University Students Association (KUSA) Chairman Joshua Ayika has been elected president of the African Universities Students Organisation (AUSO).

Mr. Ayika was elected by student leaders across the region as the representative of African universities during the Inter biannual Universities Deliberation Conference held in Germany last Friday.

The conference held at Technical university of Munich in Germany brought together students from various Universities in the World to deliberate on issues affecting the youth and ways to empower them.

This is the first time the position is being held by a Kenyan representative.

Ayika is also the chairman of the Kenya Universities Students Organization (KUSO).

In his role as the representative of African universities, Ayika is expected to push for the implementation of free education systems within Africa as well as spearhead innovative measures to reducing levels of illiteracy within the continent.
