Kabogo fails to produce documents in Waititu’s case

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has asked for more time to present documents on the alleged forgery of academic certificates by Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu.

This was after Kabogo was unable to produce the documents Tuesday in a Nairobi court as earlier directed.

Early this month, High Court issued a 14-day ultimatum for Governor Kabogo to prove the authenticity of the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) certificates he used to challenge Waititu’s academic qualifications.

This is was after the court heard that the exams body successfully verified that Governor Kabogo used forged KNEC results to question Waititu’s academic qualifications.

In court papers, Clifford Ndung’u Waititu, the Kabete MP did not register or sit Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) examination in the year 1975 at Mbagathi Primary School as alleged by Kabogo.

KNEC further alleged that in its data base for the year 1975, the CPE code produced by Kabogo belonged to Chemasingi primary school in Bomet County.

Kabogo had moved to court alleging that Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu is unfit to contest for any elective office due to his academic qualifications.

In an urgent certificate, Kabogo, through his lawyer Issa Mansur, argued that Waititu does not possess any valid university degree from a recognized university and there is no evidence that the MP went through a process of learning at the university of Punjab University in India.

On his part, Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu said that doubts about his academic credentials were being raised by those he claims want to derail him.

In late March, the MP, who was contesting for the Nairobi Governor’s post presented certificates at a media briefing that bore the name Clifford Ndung’u Waititu  and included a 1981 Kenya Certificate of Education and a leaving certificate from Siri Guru College in India and his degree certificate while the name ‘Ferdinand’ appears on his national Identity Card and his passport.
