Kabogo forged Waititu’s academic results to file a case – KNEC

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been given 14 days by the High Court to prove the authenticity of the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) results he used to challenge Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu’s academic qualifications.

This is after the High Court heard Tuesday, that the exams body successfully verified that Governor Kabogo used forged KNEC results to question Waititu’s academic qualifications.

In court papers, Clifford Ndung’u Waititu, the Kabete MP did not register or sit Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) examination in the year 1975 at Mbagathi Primary School as alleged by Kabogo.

KNEC further alleges that in its data base for the year 1975, the CPE code produced by Kabogo belonged to Chemasingi primary school in Bomet County.

Waititu has explained in court papers how he acquired different names during his school life.

According to the Kabete MP, he acquired name Clifford at his youthful age and thereafter opted for Ferdinand out of admiration of the then Pipeline President Ferdinand Marcos.

The hearing, however, did not proceed as Waititu raised preliminary objection on the basis that the court needed to hear and determine the issues raised by KNEC.

A lecturer Friend to Waititu, whom he said they schooled together and in the same class in India, has also filed an affidavit in his defence.

Kabogo has been given 14 days to file response to forgery allegation before the case can continue.

Kabogo had moved to court alleging that Waititu was not fit to vie for any public position on the basis of integrity issues.

In late March 2016, Waititu defended himself against allegations that he fraudulently acquired a degree certificate from Punjab University in India.

“I would like everyone to know that my mother separated from my father for 12 years. I was brought up by a single mother and I was using my grandmother’s name at that time. When they reunited I started using my father’s name,” Waititu clarified as to why he changed his names.

This came after Kabogo filed a case against him questioning the credibility of the documents presented to the IEBC during the 2013 General Elections.

The standoff between the two political bigwigs stems from the race for the Kiambu Gubernatorial seat in next year’s General Election.
