Kabogo to pay Waititu Ksh 5.3M for ‘calling his degree fake’
Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, has been ordered by court to pay rival Kabete Member of Parliament, Ferdinand Waititu, Ksh 5.3 million in costs after losing a case alleging his (Waititu’s) degree from Punjab University in India is fake.
Judiciary Deputy Registrar, Sharon Mwayuli, issued the orders on the legal costs incurred by Waititu in the case after Kabogo’s petition challenging Waititu’s university degree was dismissed.
Waititu had filed a bill of Ksh 51 million as amount he accrued from prosecuting the case.
The Kiambu Governor aspirant won in a December ruling after High Court Judge, Joseph Onguto, ruled that the case lacked jurisdiction to meddle in the dispute.
