Kabura wants Waiguru stopped from using NYS scam in politics

The National Youth Service (NYS) cash theft suspect, Josephine Kabura, now wants the court to stop former Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru, from using the scam to gain political mileage.

Kabura says the move amounts to prejudice.

Kabura, through her advocate, wants the court to warn and restrain Waiguru from using NYS scandal in gatherings and media houses.

The application was made before MilimaniSenior Principal Magistrate, Martha Mutuku, who is set to rule on the matter on September 29 when the matter will be mentioned.

The Magistrate raised concerns over continuous absence from court by Ben Gethi’s mother, Charity Wangui.

Ms Wangui has only appeared once on warrant of arrest order since the case began and this has provoked the Magistrate who insists on her attendance on the next mention date even after unsuccessful attempt to to exempt her from attending the trial of the matter by her advocate.

The prosecution has indicated that it will line up nine witnesses in the matter.

Notable suspects in the case are High Court Advocate, Patrick Ogolla, Businessman Ben Gethi, and Josephine Kabura among others.
