Kajiado candidate dealt blow after running mate ditches him for Lenku

A  Party of National Unity (PNU) gubernatorial candidate for Kajiado has been dealt with a major blow after his running-mate resigned four days to the August 8 General Election.

Mr. Daniel Livondo’s running-mate Kennedy Thiong’o resigned from the position, to support the candidacy of Jubilee party’s and former Interior CS Joseph Ole Lenku.

“I have dropped as a running-mate to support the candidacy of Ole Lenku. There is need to oust the current governor who has failed the people of Kajiado. The only way to do that is by uniting under Ole Lenku,” said Thiong’o.

On his part, Ole Lenku praised Thiong’o for what he terms as a bold move that is for the greater good of the Kajiado County. He exuded confidence of trouncing the incumbent ODM’s David Nkedienye in next week’s poll.

“Thiong’o has made a good move in joining our camp. I also urge Mr. Livondo to join us in Jubilee so that we can sent home a governor who has failed to develop the county,” said Lenku.
