Kajiado Central Overview Ahead Of By-Elections

The three are Memusi Kanchory of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Patrick Tutui of the Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) and Nkashuma Kuntai (an Independent candidate).

 

Profiles of the Candidates

Memusi Kanchory of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is an agricultural farmer as well as an entrepreneur who runs a water farm at Osiligi in Kajiado.

Patrick Tutui of JAP is a consultant in Risk and Safety Management

Little is known publicly of the independent candidate Nkashuma Kantai whose youthfulness is the only attribute mentioned in reviews.

 

Reason for By-Election

The Kajiado Central Member of National Assembly seat fell vacant after the resignation of Hon. Joseph Nkaissery on 19th December 2014. The law requires that a by-election is held within 90 days from the occurrence of a vacancy.

Kajiado Central Constituency consists of five (5) County Assembly Wards (CAWs) with a total of 39,545 registered voters in 102 polling stations.
