Kakamega: Man kills wife after disagreement over Ugali

Police in Kakamega County have arrested a man who is alleged to have killed his wife on Monday night following a disagreement over food at Emukaya village.

The suspect; Joseph Shiro, is reported to have returned home drunk and asked to be served a second round of Ugali, a demand that angered his wife Florence Makonjio.

The couple got into an argument before the man picked a jembe and hit his wife on the head.

According to the couple’s daughter, the father arrived home drunk and excited and was even dancing before them before the disagreement occurred.

The family of the deceased has expressed shock at the incident, noting that the couple did not have any conflict before the incident.

The suspect was detained at Shilakwe Police Post in Navakholo pending arraignment.

The body of the deceased was moved to Kakamega mortuary.
