Kakamega: Woman burns husband with hot tea in quarrel over ugali

A 25-year-old man in Kakamega is nursing serious injuries after he was scalded by his wife with hot tea following a wrangle over food in their home village of Umoja in Lugari location.

According to neighbours, Daniel Omollo came home on Thursday evening and found his wife preparing tea.

He however insisted that he wanted to eat Ugali instead, an issue which prompted an argument.

The couple disagreed over the issue before his wife Caroline Nekesa poured the boiling tea on him inflicting severe burns on his neck and chest.

Police say Nekesa fled after the incident leaving her husband writhing in pain which prompted the neighbours who rushed him to Lugari Forest Dispensary for treatment.

Lugari Location Chief Evans Adavaji said the suspect is still at large.
