Kakamega woman sets mans private parts on fire

A 32-year-old man in Matunda Village, Kakamega County is nursing serious injuries after his wife attacked him while he slept and set his private parts on fire following a disagreement on land ownership.

Anthony recalled coming home at 8 o clock on Saturday evening and after being served a meal by his wife, asked to be given his land agreement and identification card.

His wife however claimed she had burnt the documents, leading to a confrontation. He later woke up to find he had been burned with hot water.

“At about 3am I felt pain in my private parts, when I tried to call my wife to help I realised she had left and the door was locked. I called out but no one came,” said Anthony.

Anthony now says he sees no hope of reconciling with his wife following the ordeal that almost cost him his life.

“Even when I get well I will not go back to her, and if she decided to come back she has nothing to come back to because she burned it,” he said.

Anthony’s brother however says it is not the first time that such trouble has been reported at his brother’s home.

“This is not the first time for the woman to set things in the house on fire. She has set his clothes and bedding on fire in the past,” said his brother.

Her sister opined that young wives are responsible for most violence cases against husbands.

According to Anthony’s father, a ritual will have to be performed in accordance with the Luhya tradition to cleanse the family.
