Kalembe Ndile tells Odinga to quit active politics

The Independent Party (TIP) leader and a one-time Kibwezi Member of Parliament Kalembe Ndile has called on CORD leader Raila Odinga to retire from active politics saying that he is always asleep during most of the meetings he attends.

Speaking in Machakos, Kalembe said the CORD leader’s retirement will pave way for the younger generation of vibrant leaders like Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua.

Kalembe and the Machakos MP Victor Munyaka said that the Kamba community had been sidelined for long and reiterated that there is a need to endorse a leader who will bring development to them.

Munyaka backed Governor Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap saying that it is the right step towards development for the people of Ukambani region.

He warned Wiper against expelling Dr. Mutua from the party saying that was a recipe for chaos and division in the lower Eastern region.

“The power of the Kamba community lies with the people. One party does not hold all that power,” said Munyaka adding that it is time for the Kamba community to join hands and rise against politics of selfishness.

Masinga MP Itwiku Mbai said they supported Dr. Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap adding that it will liberate the Kamba nation from the bondage of poverty and empty political promises and rhetorics.

Machakos County Assembly Majority Leader Joshua Mwonga said that former leaders from the Kamba community were only inciting the locals and not concerned about their well-being.

They accused former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama of playing populist politics.

Mwonga added that it is time for Mutua to unite the Kamba community.

The leaders were speaking in Mutituni Town, Machakos Constituency on Sunday.
